The work of David Preston Studio is featured in an Eye Magazine profile of design historian Ruth Artmontsky and the books she has published. David has designed many books for Artmonsky Arts, including Showing Off, Shipboard Style and Designing Woman. The first Artmonsky Arts book I worked on with David was Tuppance Plain, Penny Coloured, which covers 50 years of furniture advertising and selling. We are currently working together on another title.

Chalk & Chat is an fully responsive, browser-based magazine written by the people behind the popular Good Schools Guides. The magazine aims ‘to be informative, entertaining and conversational, drawing on the in-depth expertise that The Good Schools Guide is fortunate to have built up over many years’.
This design project has been a collaboration with David Preston Studio, who has been working on the design of the printed Good School Guide books since 2013. The magazine is created using the digital publishing tool Instant Magazine.

To stand out from the DIY carpet cleaning options on the market place, the brand has been designed to feel slick, professional and scientific. The logo references the squares and lettering layout of the periodic table, as a subtle nod to the chemistry involved in professional carpet cleaning. The colours were chosen for the bright, fresh feel and to help appeal to the largely female customer base.
A corporate hospitality brochure for The Bell Hotel Clare. The brochure was a large square format, designed to highlight the unique meeting spaces available, as well as the food and accommodation The Bell also provides.
Here’s a quick look at some of the work I’ve been doing recently for a newly refurbished restaurant and bar.
